This striking Helmar art card captures Bob Feller, the legendary Cleveland Indians pitcher, in the midst of his
powerful delivery. The composition glows with the warm hues of a sunset sky—brilliant orange and violet tones
contrasting with the cool whites of Feller’s uniform. His dynamic motion, frozen at the peak of exertion, conveys
the controlled fury that defined his pitching style. The crisp perspective and sculpted forms emphasize both athletic
grace and explosive energy, hallmarks of Sanjay Verma’s evocative Helmar portraits.

Known as “Rapid Robert,” Bob Feller debuted with the Indians as a 17-year-old phenomenon in 1936 and quickly
became one of baseball’s most dominant power pitchers. Over an 18-year career—interrupted by four years of wartime
service in the U.S. Navy—Feller threw three no-hitters, led the league in strikeouts seven times, and earned 266 career
wins. His blazing fastball and fierce competitiveness made him a cornerstone of Cleveland’s 1948 World Series champions
and one of the game’s most revered figures.

Helmar’s ‘This Great Game’ series celebrates baseball’s storied past through hand-painted artistry inspired by vintage
gum card design. Printed on thick, lightly aged stock, each card evokes the color and texture of the game’s golden age.
Card No. 5 honors Feller’s extraordinary legacy—a blend of precision, passion, and indomitable spirit captured in
Helmar’s signature painterly style.
