Woodling, Gene

Biography

From the "This Great Game" card back: Woodling was never called the “Cleveland Menace,” but he could have been. In 234 at-bats against Bob Feller, Mike Garcia, and Bob Lemon, he batted .333 with eight home runs. Cleveland traded for Woodling in 1955 in the middle of the season, and when he arrived in his new clubhouse, Woodling found a note from Lemon that read “Welcome, cousin!”
