Bill TERRY

Biography

A short bio from the Boston Garter Game of the Century card back: Player-manager Bill Terry, who took over halfway through last season for the retiring John McGraw, has the New York Giants in the thick of the 1933 NL pennant chase. One player Bill never has to worry about is himself. There’s no better fielding first sacker in the league, nor any batter who smashes stinging line drives more consistently than he. Each of the previous 4 seasons Terry has racked up more than 200 hits and 100 runs batted in, and he won the batting title in 930 with a gaudy mark of .401. Al hurlers are advised to pitch him carefully.
