George Stallings

Biography

Ty Cobb says: “The marvel manager of the Big League, to my mind, is George Stallings, the leader of the Boston National League Club. He has great ability for getting baseball out of what looks like a bad club. He took the New York Americans several seasons ago, when they were down at the bottom of the league, and pulled them up to second place before he got into a jam and lost out. He is a team builder. But probably his greatest achievement to date was his showing with the Boston Nationals.”
