Roseboro, Johnny

Biography

From the "This Great Game" card back: It’s not easy following Roy Campanella as catcher of the Dodgers, but Roseboro was equal to the task. The man they called “Gabby” for his chattering behind the dish, Roseboro harnessed his defensive skills to become one of baseball’s best catchers, and he had two Gold Gloves to prove it. Big John was the starting catcher on four pennant winners for the Dodgers, and he was named to the All-Star Game six times.
