Pete Reiser

Biography

The short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: This youngster, already known as “Pistol Pete”, hasn’t wasted any time in setting the baseball world on fire. In last year’s 1941 season Pete hit .341, good enough to lead the league. The sparkplug of the Dodger offense also led the league in runs with 117, doubles with 39 and triples with 17. June 30th may have been his best game. With the Dodgers batting for first place, Pete pounded out a homer and a triple. He scored three times while knocking in another two. The happy result was that the Dodgers grabbed a piece of first place and went on to win the National League Championship.
