Vic Raschi

Biography

From the "This Great Game" card back: There are some fellas who can keep a car steady at 45 mph for hours. That’s Raschi, who’s won 21, 21, and 21 games (again) the last three seasons for the Yanks. In each season (1948-51), “The Springfield Rifle” has used his patented fastball to help guide the Yankees to a World Series title. In those three seasons, the tall righty beat the Yankee-chasing Cleveland team ten times to earn a reputation as a big game winner.
