The short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: Don’t try to run on Nakajima – the strong armed outfielder likes to throw runners out at 1st base! Born in 1909, he came up through college and industrial leagues before becoming the regular cleanup hitter for the Yomiuri Giants. Won the first Triple Crown in ’38. Since the war is now over he has returned to the Giants as a force at the plate as well as to provide veteran leadership.
