Stuffy McInnis

Biography

Ty Cobb says: "Stuffy" Mclnnis, of the Athletics, for instance, is a left-field hitter of the most chronic type. He does most of his batting early in the spring before the pitchers get up to their best form and before the fielders are as fast as they become later. Of course, when the pitchers get good control, they keep the ball on the outside of the plate for Mclnnis, who is a right-handed batter, and he cannot very well pull these to left field.
