Harmon KILLEBREW (HOF)

Biography

A short bio from the Helmar “This Great Game” card back: Strength is associated with football and other sports like boxing, but it’s an asset in baseball too. No one is stronger than the young power hitter in D.C., Harmon Killebrew, a bonus baby being groomed as the next super slugger. Some batters leave their own mark on their home runs, and Killer is one of them. His four-base hits soar high and deep, like a rainbow with a pot of runs at the end. The humble, husky kid from Idaho must have eaten his share of potatoes: he has shoulders as broad as the Potomac.
