The short bio from the Helmar-R319 card back: “Eggs” is a steady third sacker. He batted .314 in 135 games in 1926. He was offered a contract by the Philadelphia Phillies, but turned it down. The House of David team always stages an elaborate exhibition of “pepper” halfway through the game. To be chosen for the pepper demonstration is an honor. Eggs has been so honored. Eggs coached the junior House of David team in 1928.
