Dom DiMaggio

Biography

A short bio from the Helmar “This Great Game” card back: All three of the DiMaggio boys from San Francisco have made it to the big leagues as center fielders: oldest Vince, middle child Joe, and the youngest, Dominic. The three boys were the first in their family to not become fishermen in several generations, but it’s clear they made the correct choice. Dom has been called “The Little Professor” because of his glasses and academic style. Though he looks more like he should be balancing a ledger than roaming the outfield, Dom is a top fly chaser in the American League and an effective leadoff man for the Boston Red Sox.
