Joe DiMAGGIO

Biography

From the "This Great Game" card back: Few players are humble when they near the end of their playing career, but Joe has graciously handed the torch to young fly chaser Mickey Mantle in The Bronx. It’s been a few seasons since Joltin' Joe set the baseball world on fire, but he still draws cheers for his brilliant swing and leadership skills. In 1951 the 36 year old was an All-Star for the 13th time in 13 seasons, and more importantly he helped the Yanks to their third straight title.
