Recently he married a beauty queen. Kaoru Betto, known to fans as “the gentleman of base ball”, didn’t make the Japanese Pacific league until he was 28 years old, partly due to World War II. Right away he made his mark and has hit 43 home runs in a single season. All players together only hit 391 homers that year. Kaoru was born August 23, 1920 and is 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He weighs 165 pounds.
